One of the most photographed rocks in Arkansas, Hawksbill Crag (otherwise known as Whitaker Point), is a landmark of the Buffalo River and a favorite hike among many. I will be adding this spot to my list to visit often, as I am sure that it will look very different every season. The hike is a moderate difficulty walk for about 4 miles round trip (according to my gps) Here is the gps map, it is an interactive google map. The trail to the crag is not what I would call an easy walk, but most anyone should have no real problems getting there. The trail is well marked, and there is a lot to see here. There is a large waterfall ( that i will be going back to photograph) in the spring. Looking forward to my next visit.
